Private Sector

The world of the private sector is increasingly influenced by shifts in the external environment, not least of which can be the changing public policy environment. The next few years will see major shifts in how services are delivered, and in how the private sector (and other providers) leverage off the new opportunities which will result. Our work highlights major potential in several areas including:

  • Responding to the needs of an ageing population by creating innovative ways of funding and delivering services, especially in the focus in many countries on ‘ageing in place’ (which covers everything from home maintenance to developing user-friendly electronic equipment).

  • Affordable housing where current thinking is distracted by the belief that any solution will require substantial subsidy, and need to be public sector led. Our review of international research in housing finance suggests there are real opportunities for private sector innovation.

If you would like to know more about the opportunities we see in these and other areas, contact us.
